History of Macaroni Grill

The Romano’s Macaroni Grill is an Italian-style chain of casual dining restaurants with locations throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada.   Romano’s Macaroni Grill was founded by Philip J. Romano in Leon Springs, Texas on April 19, 1988. The following year Brinker International bought the franchise rights and now there are 230 company owned stores. Finally Brinker’s sold the stores to Golden Gate Capital.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill features items found in the traditional cuisine from Italy and the Mediterranean area. The restaurant lets the customer create their own pasta bowl from selected ingredients that are feature on the menu.

Job Description/Average Wage

Waiter: The waiter takes the orders of the customers, gives it to the kitchen and then serves the food after it was ordered. They may set up things that will help the customer create their own pasta bowl. The drinks also are served by the waiter. The average wage of the waiter is $8.01 an hour.

Dishwasher: You’re going to help the customers clean their table, as well as assist the chefs in the back with issues that they have.   You will wipe down tables, clean the floors, pots, pans, dishes and more.   You will also be required to stock the dishes back from where they came from in the first place.   The average wage is anyhwere from $7 to $9 a hour.

Server: The server takes care of the needs of the customers making sure that they are getting all the items that they need. They put the prepared pasta in the bowls and serve it to the customers along with the special ingredients that the customer selects to make up the dish that the customer wants. The average wage for a server is $7.87 an hour.

Hostess: The hostess takes the name of the customers and seats them when the tables are free. They make sure that one server or waiter is not over crowded with customers balancing out the seating arrangements. They also will tell the customers of any specials for the evening. The average wage for the hostess is $8.00 an hour.

Supervisor: Watching over the shift, you’re going to ensure that the entire restaurant is running at 100%.   You’re going to help assign tasks, as well as make sure that everything is running smoothly according to company standards.   You will assist with most tasks that other associates need help with.   The average wage is anywhere from $9 to $13 a hour.
