History of Spartan Stores

In 1917, an American food distributor and grocery chain was founded known as Grand Rapids Wholesale Grocery Company. It distributes Spartan brand in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. By 1957, the name was changed to Spartan Stores, Inc.
