History of La Madeleine Bakery Cafe Bistro

Patrick Leon Esquerré opened his first la Madeleine bakery, or boulangerie, on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas. From then, it expanded to a café and neighborhood gathering place for all to see, and enjoy a variety of classic French country fare. Now it has over 60 locations throughout Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Baker: This position responsible for making a wide range of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according the standard recipe of the company. He/She is to ensure safety and lean food handling and clean working area.   The average wage for this particular position starts at $8 per hour.

Cashier: A cashier must be skillful in the operation of a cash register. He/She should know how to process cash payments and non-cash payments. He/She should be able to talk to the customers of other payment options available to them. Help other staff to process bills of payment.   The average wage for this particular position starts at $8 per hour.

Server: This person has to take orders from the guests; offer suggestions of menu; answer customer inquiries and complains. He/She must also ensure that the guests are given excellent services.   The average wage for this particular position starts at $2 to $3 per hour plus tips.

Manager: The manager is the key employee who works in supervising   the resources and manpower of the café; ensure that everyone is working for the attainment of company goals, set plans and activities for the restaurant; engage in hiring and training key employees and must ensure guest satisfaction at all times.   The average wage for this particular position starts at $12 per hour.

Sales Associate: The sales associate is in charge of generating sales for the company. He/She has a strong work ethic and communication skills in order to do his tasks of selling the goods and services of the restaurant as well as invite more franchise applications.   The average wage for this particular position starts at $8 per hour.
