History of Shakey’s Pizza

In 1954, Sherwood the first Shakey’s outlet was opened. The building was a remodeled grocery store located at the “57th” and “J” Streets in Sacramento, California. The restaurant at “57th” and “J” Streets has grossed millions of dollars and is still a successful Shakey’s today.

Shakey’s began to expand outside the United States with the opening of a restaurant in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Mexico  City and Japan and Philippines.  Currently, there are over 500 Shakey’s restaurants world-wide. Pizza is still the mainstay at today’s Shakey’s, whether it’s our original thin crust version with its crispy, crunchy taste or the classic hand-tossed pizza with dough baked thick and chewy. Shakey’s guests also find a wide spectrum of al a carte items including marinated pressure-fried chicken, our exclusive MOJO potatoes (French-fried slices in seasoned breading) and pasta.

Job Descriptions/Wage Averages:

Research and Development Manager: The research and development manager takes charge of researching for possible product development, market demands and the like and will somehow be utilized to improve the products and services of the business or to develop new products. He/she works with market researchers and analysts in order to derive the data to be utilized for the purpose of improving company products and services.

Store Accountant: This person will serve as the trustee of the finances of the company. He/she keeps records, the incoming and outgoing funds, and manage stores related accounts, sale purchase report, stock report etc.. He/she will also do account analysis, cash reconciliations, inventory control, financial reporting, and prepare sales tax returns. He/she communicates with the management about inventory, profitability and sales ratio and financial status of store.

Cashier: The cashier collects the payment of the customers whether in cash or through cards. He/she should know how to deal with the customers too and must be knowledgeable about the prices of the products and services offered.

Store Manager: The store manager manages all the activities of the store. He/she will be engaged in planning and goal setting for the store and must ensure that these goals are achieved. He/she hires and trains employees and assigns them to tasks where they are best suited.
