Commonly referred to as BJ’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club much like Costco is a membership only warehouse club that operates in the Eastern part of the United States. BJ’s currently have 23,500 members and they’ve put up 187 stores since 1984 when they put up their first store started by Zayre in Massachusetts. BJ stands for Beverly Jean, named after one of the founder’s daughters.

As a manager for BJ’s Wholesale Club you will be responsible in the management and motivation of the staff. You should make sure that sales target are met and that the stock levels are well managed. Employees should be monitored to comply with the store’s overall sales and security procedure.

There will be instances of escalated cases wherein a customer may have to provide feedback. This should be handled professionally and should be dispelled without causing ruckus in the store. The manager should be responsible in checking the appearance of the store and that the items around are easy to find.

Assistant Manager

• Salary: An assistant manager’s salary can start at $40,000 to $58,000. Remember that the experience plays a big factor in being considered for getting a higher amount.
• Bonuses: Cash bonus is also provided to assistant managers and they can get the amount of $4,000 to $9,000 depending on performance.
• Profit Sharing: The opportunity to get shared profits is not available for this position.
• Stock Options: There are no options to gain stocks from the company are currently provided.

Customer Service Manager

• Salary: Salary for this position ranges from $31,000 to $35,000 and this will also depend on the amount of experience as well.
• Bonuses: There are no bonuses provided to customer service managers. The usual bonus depends on performance but there are none available for this position.
• Profit Sharing: Like bonuses, sharing profits with employees of the store are not considered by the company.
• Stock Options: No other incentives are available which includes the ability to gain stock options.

Assistant Manager Member Services

• Salary: Assistant manager member services are qualified to get a basic pay within the range of $45,000 to $48,000, depending on the experience they have.
• Bonuses: This position entitles the employee to get a bit more cash by getting an annual bonus; they get $4,517 to $4,851 worth of bonus.
• Profit Sharing: Currently, profit sharing as an incentive is not considered by the company for its employees.
• Stock Options: There are also no options to gain stocks from the company that are provided to the employees.

Senior Merchandise Manager

• Salary: Depending on previous experience in any field related to the job description, this position can get the employee anywhere from $55,000 to $59,000 range.
• Bonuses: Only basic salary is provided by the company, therefore cash bonus is not considered.
• Profit Sharing: Like bonuses are not provided, sharing profits are also not given by the company.
• Stock Options: BJ’s do not provide stock options to their employees in general.

Loss Prevention Manager

• Salary: Salary for this position can get the employee anywhere from $36,000 to $38,000 and this depends on the amount of experience as well.
• Bonuses: The company can provide bonuses to the employees holding this position which starts from $3,427 to $3,730.
• Profit Sharing: No additional amount is provided to the employee, this includes profit sharing.
