Alamo Rent A Car is a recognized brand serving the rental needs of airport leisure travelers. It offers low rental rates for a hassle-free customer experience at any popular travel destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America and Asia. Alamo also serves as the official rental car of Walt Disney World ® Resort and Disneyland ® Resort.

Alamo Rent A Car first operated in 1974 in the locations of Florida. The first rental plaza opened in Tampa, Fla., in 1982, and succeeding openings include Orlando, Fla. In 1985, Alamo Rent A Car introduced a new customized rental agreement the size of an airline ticket, and Instant Alamo Rent A Car, a program that stored a traveler’s individual rental information for instant reference. In 2007, Alamo Rent A Car was acquired by the Taylor Family of St. Louis that owns and operates the Alamo brand in North America.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Car Rental Agent: This person arranges the car rental services with the travelers who wish to avail the services of the company. They have to market the services of the firm, help them find the best car for their needs, provide accurate rates and help them book the car services of the company. The hourly rate he expects to receive is in the average of $8 to $10.

Manager: The manager oversees the entire operations of the rent a car outlet of Alamo. He/She must hire and train employees and must lead them to attain the company goals. He/She is involved in strategic planning, goal setting and in assuring customer satisfaction through quality customer services. He/She must ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are followed by the team. The manager expects to have an annual salary of $29k to $52k.

Maintenance Manager: This position is primarily engaged in repair, maintenance and diagnosis of cars for rent of the company. This is to make sure that the vehicles are in good conditions; other duties include receiving calls from service centres and maintenance technicians; checking garage service agreements; ensuring that the costs and time-frames of any maintenance and/or repair work are in the best interests of the client and the company; helping improve the services provided by the company. The annual salary can range between $43k to $47k.

Return Attendant: The responsibilties of this position include: Checking in returning rental cars noting any damages, mileage and gas tank levels; if necessary, completing accident reports as needed; keeping keys of vehicles returned; processing return rental agreements for payment and issue customer receipts; expediating customer complaints, concerns and answer any questions. Hourly rate ranges $13 to $15.
