Big Boy is one of the oldest restaurants in Detroit. Best recognized for its burgers, big boy has been there and served some of the juiciest burgers since 1936. Job Description / Average Wage

Store Manager: As an overall store manager you will hire clerks depending on the shifts and the size of the store. The store manager has to ensure all the shifts have staff members. You will solve any problems that clerks may have among themselves and helps to train store clerks in record keeping and time management. The store manager has to be conscious of the principles of profit and loss therefore has to make sure the store is as beneficial as possible. The average wage is around $14 to $15 a hour.

Shift Manager: This position helps the store manager with daily operating procedures, such as maintaining quality store operations, maximizing financial contributions, and supervising partners development. Some of the other responsibilities are as follows:

• Welcomes and bonds with each customer.
• Responds to customers and be grateful to every customer.
• Performs special projects to help in store operations.
• Follows cash handling methods and cash register policies.
• Assists store manager with interview and performance reviews.
• Regularly communicates store and partner concerns with store manager in an effective   manner

The hourly salary for this position is $14.

Cashier: As a Cashier working for Big Boy you have to bear big smiles. You have to greet the customers and see to it that they have all they need. A cashier must have excellent communication skills and PR skills as well. Big Boy cashiers must have the knowledge of handling a cash register. They have to keep adequate records and give an easy time to the other cashier in the next shift. The average wage is around $12 to $13 a hour.

Cook: As a Cook your responsibility is to make sure that all the food items have been prepared depending on the order of the   items. The cook has to cook well and present the foods well to the customers. It is the work of the cook to price the items on the menu since he is the one who knows the market price of the ingredients used to set up the items on the menu. Cooks work as a team to ensure the kitchen is clean and the dishes have been washed too. Your starting hourly salary is $11.

Hostess: As a Hostess you are going to accommodate your customers, as well as acquire reservations over the phone.   If the restaurant is busy, you will take reservations in store, as well as respond any questions that they may have.   You will also settle your customers when it is time to do so. The average take-home pay is from $8 to $11 a hour.
