Black-eyed Pea is a United States restaurant chain. The restaurants are situated for the most part in Texas and Colorado. Black-eyed Pea was established in 1975 by Dallas restaurateur Gene Street. The chain finally extended across the Southern United States.
In early 1997, DenAmerica procured the Black-eyed Pea restaurant chain from Unigate plc, a British food manufacturer and distributor, for $65 million. At that moment the Black-eyed Pea chain consisted of 130 restaurants, as regards a quarter of which were franchises.

Job Description / Average Wage
Manager: A Manager must be able to open and close the restaurant, obtain food and beverage inventory, open the register, track inventory, train and supervise the staff, work with suppliers and manage the advertising. The annual salary fo a Manager is $41,000-$45,000.
Assistant Manager: As an Assistant Manger you will oversee and manage the daily operations of the restaurant as well as give leadership to the restaurant team members. You will also be accountable for delivering the friendly, personalized service and outstanding food connected with the restaurant name. The average wage for this job is $15—$19 an hour.
Waiter: As a Waiter you will take customer’s orders, serve food and beverages, arrange listed checks, and sometimes acknowledge payments. Waiters and waitresses may execute additional duties, which may include escorting visitors to tables, serving customers seated at counters, setting up and clearing tables, or operating a cash register. Also check the classification of patrons to make sure they meet the smallest age requirement for the purchase of alcohol and tobacco products. Candidate must be professional, polite, and reliable. Cashier: The Restaurant Cashier is in control of the register. This would consist of cash and credit card transactions, tipping out wait staff, and balancing the register at the end of the shift. The cashier may help the Wait Staff with different tasks. He/She /she must be proficient with computerized register system and have good cash handling skills. Must have experience in retail sales, and be professional, polite, and consistent. The average wage for this job is $7—$12 an hour.
Supervisor: Responsible for watching over an entire staff. You will make schedules, assign tasks, and certify that the restaurant is running at 100%. You will assist any employee that wants help with his/her job. The average wage for a supervisor is $9 a hour.

Worked with bep 91-98 in little rock as kitchen mgr./ store trainer. This job was very stressful and demanded a lot of hours. I don’t miss this job at all.
