O’Reilly Automotive, Inc. started an the auto parts business in Springfield, Missouri, in November of 1957. From its roots as a single store in 1957, its current size now reached to over 3,613 locations. Job Description/Wage Averages

Store Management: This position is responsible for sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. Objectives are to show consistent sales growth, ensure store projects proper O’Reilly image, operates as a profit center, and follow policies and procedures aimed at ensuring company operates as economically and efficiently as possible. Requires automotive retail management experience; excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills; and knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems. Must be available to work as scheduled. ASE certification preferred.

Store Driving/Dispatching: This position will deliver parts and/or products to the professional customers in a safe and efficient manner, collect money and pick up customer returns, perform routine vehicle maintenance by checking fluid levels, oil, radiator, transmission, etc. This position requires the ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences. He/She must have excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.

Store Machine Shop: This position is responsible for repairing engine blocks and heads, crankshafts, rods, blocks, flywheels, brake drums and rotors. He/She requires knowledge of automotive engines and their components, ability to operate various types of power tools and equipment, and the ability to conform to strict quality control policies.

Store Counter Sales: The responsibilities include: provide customers with professional assistance in obtaining parts, advise customers of parts needs and recommend substitution of parts when a replacement is not available, service professional customer accounts and develop good sales relationships, follow and promote all company customer service programs. The position requires leading technical parts knowledge including a good background in mechanics, excellent customer service skills, and above average communication skills. ASE certification preferred.

Store cashier: He/She is responsible for keeping the store front floor area stocked, fronted, and clean; stocking merchandise according to planograms or displays; completing sales preparation; and greeting customers on the sales floor. This position may also require occasional delivery of parts/products to professional customers.

Store Inventory Analyst: This position is responsible for maintenance of retail store inventories. Analyze and implement stocking levels that will create replenishment orders by schedule and ensure proper mix of items; use integrated inventory management software to maintain inventories; perform statistical analysis of SKUs based on sales history and market; complete line reviews; approve premark change results and other duties as assigned. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; customer service skills; excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; proficiency with Excel and ability to handle multiple projects. Two years automotive aftermarket sales experience and retail inventory management experience desired.
