Clothes Mentor is a women’s fashion resale store that started its business in the early 80’s. Clothes Mentor ® is the brainchild of Lynn and Dennis Blum who have found a high-value, high-margin retail businesses. In 1991, the first Once Upon A Child ® resale store in Columbus, Ohio was opened to resale the clothes that were outworn by Lynn’s boys. . Soon after, she opened her second store in Toledo. In 1992, Lynn and Dennis began franchising the Once Upon A Child ® business and by late 1992, they had sold and opened 20 Once Upon a Child ® stores.
Job Description/Wage Averages
Sales Associate: This position is primarily tasked in generating sales for the company. The tasks and responsibilities of the sales associate specifically include: ensuring that each customer receives high quality services by providing a friendly environment like greeting and acknowledging every customer. He/She will also assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock, help customers in locate the needed merchandise; communicate customer requests to management; help in completing price changes within the department; assist in year-end inventory and cycle counts; and perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the manager. The hourly rate ranges $8 to $9.
Customer Service: This person takes charge in dealing with the store’s clients. He/She may communicate the customers through the phone or in person, attend to their inquiries and help resolve their complaints and attend to their needs.
Cashier: The cashier receives the payment of the customers; pays the seller as needed and will take charge of counting the cash and depositing them at the end of his duty period. He/She may also assist the customers’ needs. If any problems do persist, you’ll do your best to help ratify the situation or have the store manager assist with the situation.
