History of Cosi

Cosi began in 1996, and this single restaurant has evolved into 100 restaurants in 16 states and the District of Columbia. Così was founded on the idea that good food will make that journey all the more delicious. Così is described to be more than a restaurant- offers surprising, always delightful experience; a venue   where people gather to relax, dine and share their common belief that “Life Should Be Delicious ®”.

Così Food includes signature flatbread based on a two millennia-old recipe, similar to the breads first produced by the Romans; sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients, distinctive sauces and spreads, nestled in the signature flatbread;   salads are equally surprising, tossed to order; variety of delicious soups, bagels, our unique flatbread pizza, gourmet beverages and desserts; sophisticated, eclectic café, coffee is in Così DNA; plus, the ambience inspired by a small Parisian café – a warm inviting spot where people liked to go for coffee, spend time with the community and of course, enjoy a great sandwich.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Barista: This person will provide beverages according to recipe in a friendly guest-first manner. He/She is to maintain a well-presented, well-stocked, and clean beverage station. The expected hourly rate is $8 to $9.

General Manager: The General Manager spearheads all restaurant operations; develops and manages team members, builds sales and profit while maintaining high operating standards.   He/She is to implement policies and procedures; hire and train workers, ensure guest satisfaction and food quality, and manage safety and security within the restaurant. The annual salary ranges $50k to $54k.

Shift Leader: This position is responsible for leading restaurant operations during a shift by following the company guidelines, policies and procedures.   He/She is also responsible for delivering outstanding guest service, coaching, training and developing team members, and managing inventory, labor and cash handling. This position expects an hourly salary of   $10 to $13

Assistant Manager: The assistant manager works with the general manager in supervising the operations in the restaurant. He/She is to engage in strategic planning, directing personnel and in planning activities to generate sales. The annual salary ranges $36k to $38k
