History of Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is an American chain restaurant that started in Lebanon, Tennessee, U.S. September 19, 1969. The company operates 591 full-service locations located in 41 states. The company was very proud to be ranked as the top “family dining” chain for the 19th consecutive year in Restaurants & Institutions magazine. This restaurant gives off a real Southern theme atmosphere.

They have a long front porch where they keep wooden rocking chairs and other wood furniture pieces that are for sale. They typically serve breakfast all day long with a real southern lunch and dinner menu. They also feature an old fashion country store that many people enjoy buying nostalgic merchandise, collectible, and many other items.

Job Description/Average wage

Servers: The servers work in the restaurant area serving the people their meals along with drinks and dessert items. The server takes the customers orders, makes sure that they get their food in a timely manner and then presents the customer with their check. The normal starting wage is approximately $4 an hour plus tips.

Dishwasher: A dishwasher is going to be in charge of cleaning tables, washing dishes in the back, as well as ensuring that all the plates, cups and more are stocked properly.   You’re going to also assist the cooks with cleaning of kitchen materials and more.   In your downtime, you will help mop, clean and more.   The average wage is $7 to $9 a hour.

Cashier: Working in the front gift store, you’re going to help stock items, ring up customers after eating, as well as help assist customers with any questions or concerns that they may have.   You will also assist the staff with any other jobs that they may have.     The average wage is anywhere from $7 to $10 a hour.

Prep Cook: The prep cook works in the kitchen alongside of the cook making the side things that are needed for the main meal. They may be in charge of making the potatoes, or perhaps the gravy and sauces but whatever their duties are they must make sure that the food they prepare is the good quality that Cracker Barrel is famous for serving. The normal starting wage is $8.30 an hour.

Associate Manager: The associate manager works long side of the manager doing many of the same duties that is required for the manager to handle. They help with the opening and closing, ordering supplies, providing good customer care and making sure the restaurant and the store both meet with the standards required by Cracker Barrel. The average wage is $47,105 a year.
