Carl and Grace Wetanson opened a hotdog restaurant in the year 1936. This was then considered as the beginning of Dallas BBQ. Before Dallas BBQ, Wetson’s Hamburger came on in 1960’s with almost 100 units. Then, in 1980, Dallas BBQ was opened too and has been part of the booming restaurant industry. Job Description/Wage Averages
Server: if you are assigned as server, you have to serve guests promptly and efficiently; thus, you need to have extensive knowledge about the food and beverage menus of the restaurant. You need to offer superior customer service, and must ensure that the station where you are assigned is maintained well. You also have to merchandize food and beverage menus in an informative and friendly way. You have to take guests’ orders accurately, follow safety and sanitation policies, and must maintain a well groomed appearance. May also execute marketing activities for the restaurant. The average wage can start around $2 per hour, plus tips.
Bartender: This person will provide beverages according to recipe in a friendly guest-first manner. He/She is to maintain a well-presented, well-stocked, and clean beverage station. The average wage can start around $8 per hour.
Dishwasher: This person is responsible in ensuring that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored in the appropriate place. In your free time, you’ll assist with mopping floors as well as ensuring that tables are kept clean. The average wage can start around $8 per hour.
Prep Cook: This person has to prepare/cook food for guests; make sure that all equipment, utensils and working areas are maintained well; coordinate prep amounts with managers, follow recipe instructions, use checklists and prep sheets, ensure safe food handling guidelines. Host/Hostess: This person oversees the dining area and the personnel involve in the dining services.
