History of D’Angelo

D’Angelo originally opened as Ma Riva’s Sub Shop on March 1, 1967, in Dedham, Massachusetts with the philosophy: put the best quality meats, cheeses and toppings in the freshest breads and serve it friendly and fast.

D’Angelo has been the New England’s favorite chain of sandwich shops by keeping it simple. The Plain Great sandwiches, salads, wraps and pokkets ® are made to order. Today, the D’Angelo menu includes over 44 sandwiches as well as a variety of hearty soups and fresh-made salads.

It was in August 1997 when Papa Gino’s Holdings Corporation, the parent company of Papa Gino’s, acquired D’Angelo. D’Angelo and Papa Gino’s share a commitment to provide high-quality products; attentive service; clean, convenient, attractive restaurants, and a premium value for every guest. There are almost 200 D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches restaurants and nearly 170 Papa Gino’s restaurants.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Cashier : A cashier operates the cash register and he may double as a receptionist as well. He/She will process cash payments and non-cash payments. He/She should be able to talk to the customers of other payment options available to them.

Cook: This position has to work as a team player in the kitchen and cooperate with the rest of the cooks in making the foods; he must be skilled in attractive serving of food. All the items in the menu have to be cooked and each cook has to perform his part well. Cooks must maintain a high sense of hygiene in the kitchen.

General Manager: This position supervises the entire operation of the restaurant. He/She makes sure that the goals of the company are being attained and that all of the employees are working according to its philosophy. He/She also plans and organizes the company or restaurant activities; trains and hire excellent employees and direct them towards the attainment of goals. He/She is to ensure high quality products offered for the customers.

Delivery Drivers: Delivery drivers provide quick and efficient service to customers by safely transporting orders to their homes or businesses.
