Job Description/Wage Averages
Host/Hostess: The person assigned in this position will be coordinating and supervising the activities of dining room area; manage the personnel to provide fast and courteous service to guests; arranging reservations; greeting and escorting the guests, providing menus; attending to complaints; ensuring neatness and cleanliness of the dining area; hiring, training and discharging dining room personnel. The average wage for this position starts at $3+ per hour plus tips.
Server: This position is responsible for serving the needs or orders of the guests; providing guests with a clean, comfortable environment for their dining experience; ensuring that every guest is thanked and invited to return. The average wage for this position starts at $3+ per hour plus tips.
Bartender: This position is responsible in providing beverages according to company standards and guest preferences. He/She is to maintain a well-presented, well-stocked, and clean beverage station too. The average wage for this position starts at $8+ per hour plus tips.
Dishwasher: This person is responsible in cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment and making sure that these are stored properly. The average wage for this position starts at $8+ per hour.
Prep Cook: This person has the responsibilities to prepare/cook food for guests; make sure that all equipment, utensils and working areas are cleaned and well prepared; coordinate prep amounts with managers, follow recipe instructions, use checklists and prep sheets, follow safe food handling guidelines. The average wage for this position starts at $8+ per hour.
Line Cook: The line cook is expected to perform a range of duties related to the station. His duties include setting up the work station, prep items for service, clean the station and may also perform general duties like cleaning kitchen equipment, organize produce delivery, train a new cook and perform complete inventory. The average wage for this position starts at $8+ per hour.
