History of Denny’s

Denny’s today has become a part of America’s breakfast.   Founded in 1953, Denny’s boasts over 1,500 restaurants worldwide.   From the United States to New Zealand, when you stop in one, you’re going to be treated with everything from breakfast to lunch.

Job Descriptions / Wage Averages

Server: Your duties are going to include everything from taking the customer’s order to processing food orders, as well as taking the food back out to the table.   You’re going to be handling customer’s request, as well as cleaning up in your downtime.   This job pays an average of $8 – $10 including tips on average.   This will depend on your location.

Cook: You’re going to be in charge of processing orders and cooking them to perfection.   You’re going to alter orders if the customer wants a special request, as well as doing odd end jobs such as taking out the trash and cleaning up the kitchen in your down time.   The starting pay for this job ranges from $8 to $11 a hour depending on experience.

Line Cook: Working with the main cook of the kitchen, you’re going to help prep foods, stock shelves with ingredients and more.   You will assist waitresses with their order, as well as ensure that the cook is helped with it’s particular orders.   A line cook will also be in charge of keeping the kitchen cleaned.   The average wage is anywhere is from $8 to $12 a hour.

Dishwasher: As a buser and dishwasher, you’re going to clean kitchen tables, wash dishes, as well as make sure that the lobby is kept clean at 100%.   You will also assist the kitchen staff with any problems or issues that they may have.   You will also keep the lobby, kitchen areas and other areas cleaned in your downtime.   The average wage varies from $8 to $10 a hour.

Restaurant Manager: Running the whole restaurant, you’re going to be in charge of hiring the employees, creating schedules, as well as assigning tasks for those that work during a particular shift.   You will also be in charge of helping customers with any problems or concerns that they may have with their order, etc.   You will more than likely report to the district manager if there are any problems that arise in the restaurant.   The average wage is anywhere from $35,000 to $51,000 a year.
