East Coast Appliance & Electronics started its operation in 1988 as a small appliance store. It is known as the largest independent appliance and electronics dealer in Virginia; selling all the major brands of appliances and electronics.

East Coast Appliance & Electronics belongs to Nationwide Marketing Group with a combined purchase power of over 2 billion dollars in appliances. Rob Nicholson is the president and owner said, that what sets their company apart from its competitors is the huge selection of every major brand at low prices.

The business has grown into several retail locations in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Portsmouth. In 2005, Nicholson opened the Laskin Road superstore in Virginia Beach. The Chesapeake location opened in 2006 and followed in 2007 with Newport News, his largest store today with over 30,000 sq. ft. of appliances on display.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Salesperson: This person is the key personnel who will be generating sales for the company. He/She communicates with the customers who want to buy the products they need. He/She will also assist the clients in getting the product suited to their likes and needs.   You’re going to help assist with the explanation of products as well as recommend products that work for their particular tastes. The annual salary ranges $20K to $30K.

Appliance Technician: This person is responsible in doing repairs for the defective appliances. He/She may also advise the buyers on how to take care of their new purchased appliances. He/She communicates with the clients on the kind of appliance servicing they need. Appliance technician will also work with the team in maintaining the quality of the displayed appliances. His annual salary ranges $25K to $35K.

Cashier: The cashier receives the payment of the customers from the product they bought. He/She also assists in attending the needs of the customers. This position must also be knowledgeable about prices and other promotional techniques of the company in order to induce more sales.   After a customer has made an order, you’re going to help them fill out the appropriate paperwork as well as make sure that they were happy with their purchase.   The average wage for this position can start at $9 per hour.
