Job Description/Wage Averages
Line Cook: The line cook is responsible to set up the work station, prepare items for service, clean the station and may also perform general duties like cleaning kitchen equipment, organize produce delivery, train a new cook and perform complete inventory. The average wage for this particular position starts at $8 per hour.
Server: This position primarily deals with the guest for they serve the needs or orders of the guests; provides guests with a clean, comfortable environment for a satisfactory dining experience; makes sure that the guests’ needs are attended promptly. The average wage for this particular position starts at $2 to $3 per hour plus tips.
Dishwasher: This person is responsible in ensuring that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, and stored in the proper place. You’ll also be in charge of ensuring that the restaurant and the back of the kitchen stays clean as well. The average wage for this particular position starts at $8 per hour.
Prep Cook: This person has the responsibilities to prepare/cook food for guests; ensure that all equipment, utensils and working areas are maintained for cleanliness; coordinate prep amounts and follow safe food handling guidelines. The average wage for this particular position starts at $8 per hour.
General Manager: This person ensures that the restaurant operates profitably and should lead the team to attain the goals of the company. The manager is responsible for the business performance of their restaurant, maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety.
