Food for Less is one of the stores operated by Kroger. Kroger is one of the nation’s largest retail grocery chains which were established more than 125 years ago.   The Company’s more than 320,000 associates and 24 local stores including Kroger, Ralphs, Fry’s, King Soopers, Smith’s, Dillons, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, QFC and City Market. Kroger also operates 41 food processing plants in the U.S. The company is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Cashier: The cashier receives payment from the purchase of goods by the customers. He/She must be knowledgeable about the prices and discounts if there are any. The rate of the cashier ranges $5 to $10 per hour.

Inventory:   Working in the back room, you’ll be assisting with unloading trucks, pricing items as well as organizing them in the appropriate spots.     If any problems arise in the store, you’ll do your best with making sure that it is resolved with the manager.   The average wage can start around $8 per hour.

Co-Manager: The co-manager assists the manager in supervising the store. He/She helps in overseeing the activities to attain the goals of the company; trains and hires employees and will look after positions where in charge are absent and he should take over the tasks. The annual salary is between $33k and $53k.

Grocery Clerk: The grocery clerk attends to the needs of the customers. He/She assist the customers to locate the products they intend to buy; offer suggestions for products which   suit to the needs of the clients; answer all inquiries related to the product. The rate he receives is within $6 to $13 per hour.

Pharmacist: The pharmacist takes charge of the pharmacy department. He/She reads prescriptions and caters the drugs as reflected in the prescriptions. Pharmacist will also perform inventory of the stocks and may request for items which need to be purchased. The salary is within $15 to $50 per hour.
