The trade name of Hooters is owned by two privately held American restaurant chains. The two chains are Hooters of America, Incorporated which is based in Atlanta, Georgia and Hooters Incorporated, based in Clearwater, Florida. The idea behind Hooters is to be staffed with a wait staff made up of attractive waitresses.
The company does employ others such as males/females to cook, host, and busboy and manage. The sex appeal of the waitress’s is the primary part of the company’s image. The restaurant serves delicious hamburgers, steaks, seafood entrees, appetizers, and the specialty item is chicken wings. Just about all of the restaurants hold alcoholic beverage licenses to sell beer and wine and if local law permits they also have a full liquor bar. The restaurants have become so famous that they sell souvenirs and curios along with T-shirts and sweatshirts all with the Hooters logo. Today there are over 435 Hooters throughout the United States.
