Job Description / Average Wage
Sales Associate / Part time Associate: As an associate, you’re going to assist customers with their purchase, help stock clothing, CDs, jewelry and more. You will also make sure that the store remains clean, and is up to company standards. You may also have to process returns from time to time when a customer brings in an order that they didn’t want. There are times when you will have to process special orders as well. The average wage is around $7 to $10 a hour.
Assistant Manager / Keyholder: As an assistant manager, you’re going to be in charge of overlooking the shifts. You will assign tasks, you will help employees with their tasks, as well as assist the main manager with any paperwork, or jobs that need to be done. The average wage is around $9 to $13 a hour.
Part Time Manager: For those that want to work part time, this job is going to be the same as the manager job. A part time manager will usually work 20-30 hours a week without any type of benefits. You’re going to help assist the main manager or even be on call if they need your help. The average wage is going to be anywhere from $8 to $15 a hour.
Store Manager: As you run the store, you’re going to run the complete store. You will be in charge of inventory, hiring employees, as well as doing many of the tasks that the associates perform. Your average wage is going to vary from $14 to $22 a hour.
District Manager: This position is going to require that you oversee a handful of stores. You’re going to ensure that your zone is functioning properly. You will assist other managers, as well as make sure that all stores are running at 100%. This position is going to more than likely require some sort of college degree, or you may be able to work your way up the ladder. A district manager is going to make anywhere from $55,000 to $62,000 a year.
