In 1995, the idea of starting up a business name Lovesac started when Shawn David Nelson produced a big bean bag that he can carry everywhere. He/She then started to sew the first five Sacs on his mother’s sewing machine. He/She continued to roll out the 10 yards of fabric for each Sac in his parent’s basement, cut it into figure-8 shapes, and hand deliver them to a neighborhood seamstress for sewing. Shawn finally registered the name LoveSac on October 31, 1998. LoveSac first appeared at local home shows, boat shows, car shows, beer fests, October fests, and events at Shawn’s school festivals at the University of Utah. Since the quality of the Lovesac products is maintained through the years, this makes the reason for the company to grow even bigger with more customers patronizing his products.
