History of McGrath’s Fish House

It was in the year 1980 when John McGrath opened the first McGrath’s Fish House in Salem, Oregon. It operates as a seafood restaurant since Salem is close to the Oregon coast and there is an abundance of seafood. The restaurant is famed of fresh and well prepared dishes. The homemade clam chowder became famous; there were lots of wonderful recipes and pies too.   Teaming up with the local seafood supplier, McGrath’s was able to have fresh seafood delivered daily to most any western market and this paves the way for the restaurants opened in Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and California.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Chef/Kitchen Managers:  This is a management position that takes charge of all the activities taking place in the kitchen area. This person must ensure that foods to be served to the customers are according to the company’s standards and customer preferences.   The chef works in establishing and enforcing food specifications, portion control, recipes and sanitation; control food and labor costs.

Assistant Managers: Being an assistant manager, you will ensure exceptional food quality and guest service; hire and train qualified staff; help in building sales, controlling costs, and learning all aspects of our business for you work with the general manager.

Server: This position serves the needs or orders of the guests; provides guests with a clean, comfortable environment for their unforgettable dining experience; ensure customer satisfaction.

Dishwasher: This person should ensure that dishes and kitchen wares are cleaned, sanitized and stored in the proper place.
