It was in 1970 when Olga Loizon opened her first restaurant in Birmingham, Michigan. She began selling the Original Olga ® sandwich — a combination of beef and lamb topped with onions, tomatoes, and tangy Olga sauce all wrapped in her secret recipe Olga Bread.
Olga’s Kitchen now has expanded to over 30 restaurants operating in three states and two countries. The menu has expanded also that includes modern twists on the classic Original ® like the Asian Chicken Olga ®, the Fried Chicken Olga ®, the Steak & Cheese Olga ® , Olga’s Fries, a line of fresh entree salads, hand-made Spinach Pie, hearty homemade soups, decadent desserts like Birmingham’s Best Brownie, and the signature beverage — the refreshing Orange Cream Coolerâ„¢.
All Olga’s Kitchen location stores offer dine-in and carryout service and child friendly Kids’ Meals. Some locations also offer free WiFi access, Suncoast Smoothiesâ„¢ and private rooms and group menus for parties of 10 of more.
Job Description/Salary Averages
General Manager: Person assigned in this position is responsible for obtaining financial results through the effective leadership of their management and hourly team. They are responsible for achieving exceptional food quality and guest service by hiring the excellent staff, executing training programs, and coaching and developing their team. The GM is charged with growing sales, controlling costs, maintaining an impeccably clean & safe restaurant, and developing their staff to the next level. This is an ideal position for the experienced restaurant manager who is looking for the challenge of running every aspect of a multi-million dollar business.
Assistant Manager: He will execute exceptional food quality and guest service through the training and development of their staff. They will focus on building sales, controlling costs, and learning all aspects of our business so they can take the next step as a General Manager.
Cook : The responsibilities of the cook include preparing food using Olga’s Kitchen specifications in a timely manner. He/She must observe all food safety standards including proper food rotation.
Kitchen Specialist: The kitchen specialist’s responsibilities include assuring overall cleanliness and sanitation for the back-of-house. Also, assist with food preparation and production as required.
