Job Description/ Average wage
Wait staff: Outback Steakhouse refers to their waiters and waitress as wait staff which they still do the same performances as a waiter or waitress. They are expected to greet the customer, take their orders, and then deliver them in the manner that they were ordered by the customer. The wait staff is suppose to take drink orders first and make sure that they see the identifications of those who are placing orders for alcoholic beverages making sure that they are of legal age to have the drink. Since the bartender is not in the position to see the customers and determine the age they are dependent on the wait staff. The appetite, soups and salads are served first. Afterwards the wait staff delivers the steaks to the customers along with any other side dishes. They are expected to check the steak order making sure that it is prepared in the manner that the customer desires. Afterwards they present the customer with their bill, collect, and then return with the receipt plus the change or charge card. They must be friendly and outgoing. The average wage is around $5.00 an hour plus tips. This varies in accordance to the area that you are working.
Bartender: The bartender must be a professionally licensed person who knows how to make all sorts of mixed alcoholic drinks. They need to be able to prepare the drink with the right amounts of alcoholic beverages and add fruit drinks as required. In some cases drinks are made by adding cola’s, water, vermouth, or other substances to dilute the alcohol. It is necessary for the bartender to be trained and licensed before they can acquire a position with Outback Steakhouse restaurants. This position is going to pay anywhere from $2 to $9 a hour plus tips.
Bus Boy / Dishwasher: You’re going to help keep the restaurant clean, as well as the back kitchen. You’re going to help with clearing tables, cleaning dishes, as well as helping chefs with the pots, pans and more.
