History of Pak N Save

The PAK’n SAVE group began when it opened the first store in Kaitaia in 1985. Foodstuffs are the co-operative of New World, PAK’nSAVE, Write Price and Four Square stores belong. Foodstuffs was founded in 1922 by members of the Auckland Master Grocers Association, who formed a co-operative buying group. Originally all the stores used the name Four Square, with New World established in 1963 and Pak’N Save in 1986. Together, these Foodstuffs companies have become New Zealand’s fourth largest business for food retail.

Job Description/Wage Averages:

Deli Assistant: As a Deli Assistant you would be responsible for food preparation, managing waste, ordering supplies, and dealing with customers. You also need to work in accordance to the rules and regulations of the company. The annual salary is  $23 to $24.

Pastry Baker: Baker should be the one who can help add value to the daily operations of our Bakery department. He bakes pastries and other bakery products in accordance to the specific menu of the company.

Cashier: Duties will include cash handling, bankings, balancing and general administration work. Accuracy and attention to detail along with the ability to multi task and remain focused on the tasks at hand are essential. The ability to work within time frames given and work unsupervised are a must.

General Manager:  This person oversees the entire operations of the company. He hires and trains employees and delegates tasks as well. He manages the financial and personnel resources of the company and should lead the team to attain the goals of the company.

Bread Baker: You must have good personal presentation and a commitment in assisting to produce quality products. The dominant duties will be Bread baking but you may also be required to assist with the packing and displaying of product from time to time. You must also be familiar with the appropriate food safety and hygiene requirements applicable when working with food.

Check Out Operator: Checkout Operator position we currently have available in our busy Store will have the duties like: Reporting to the Checkout Manager you will be responsible providing an accurate, efficient and pleasant service at the front end ensuring customers and colleagues experience the highest possible standards of service.
