Planet Organic Health Corp. is a natural health foods and organic foods dealer that was founded by Mark Craft in 1978 at Alberta.

When Edmonton, Alberta based High Level Natural Foods — at the time, one of the most successful natural food retailers in Canada was purchased in 1993, the founders renamed it Terra Natural Food Market. In 2001, Darren Krissie joined the company to bring Terra’s “new health food store” shopping experience to natural food shoppers across Canada. They then established Planet Organic Health Corp.

Job Description/Salary Averages

Produce Merchandiser: This position is responsible for ensuring that products appear in the right store, at the appropriate time, and in the correct quantities; working closely with the department manager teams, at store level, to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance. Other job functions include setting the pricing file, product selection, liaising with vendors, and assisting in the monitoring inventory levels.

Grocery Merchandiser: This position involves working closely with the buying teams to accurately forecast Grocery trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance. He/She decides how much money should be spent, how many lines should be bought, and in what quantities. In smaller companies, the same person may be responsible for both buying and merchandising.

Cashier: This person receives the payment of the customers for the products being purchased; payments may be in a form of cash or credit cards. He/She must also be responsible in preparing invoices for the customers’ purchase.

Supervisor:   As a supervisor, you’re going to be in charge of making sure that the store is running according to company policy.   You will be responsible for opening up the store, closing it as well as attending to any employee and/or customer need.

Construction Maintenance Manager: The person assigned in this position works as Planet Organic Market’s representative on construction and renovation projects; works with Operations and POM’s designated consultants to provide the necessary coordination and control for new store projects, expansion and renovations; completes Architectural & Mechanical drawing reviews to ensure proposed layouts meet POM requirements/expectations; assists in new site selection determining physical viability of proposed locations; controls construction budgets and reduce costs wherever possible; plans for and oversees regular maintenance of all POM stores.
