Save-On-Foods store was first opened in the year 1990 in Alberta.

Save-On-Foods  is a chain of  stores that offer bets valued products and services such as nutrition, health clinics, and Changes Recycling Centres. Today, Save-On-Foods operates 53 stores in B.C. and 25 in Alberta. Job Description/Wage Averages

Cashier: The cashier receives the payments of the customers. He/she must have the product knowledge especially the prices and discounts if there any. He/she will also recommend payment options which are convenient for the customer. He/she expects to receive an hourly salary of $9-$11.

Grocery Clerk: The grocery clerk is responsible for correctly ringing up and handling the customer’s purchases. The hourly rate ranges $12 to $13.

Deli Clerk: A Deli clerk is responsible for preparing, pricing, and merchandising the department’s deli products like meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, dips, gourmet and hot case items. He/she communicates with the customers about the company’s deli products and services and help increase sales by handing out food samples and by suggesting additional items to customers. He/she must be knowledgeable and skillful about working with equipment like fryers and slicers, and make use of intercoms to announce special promotions and weekly specials.

Meat Clerk: This person takes the responsibility of preparing and merchandizing the department’s meat section. He/she suggests to the customers the products they need and offers help for the customers to fin the products they intend to buy.

Manager: This person oversees the entire operation of the store. He/she is engaged in planning and in setting goals for the store. The manager hires, trains and assigns employees to the department where the skills and knowledge best apply. He/she must ensure that everyone works for the attainment of the company’s goals.
