History of Taco Bell
Taco Bell is an American restaurant chain which is based in Irvine, California and is a subsidiary of Yum Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is known for serving foods that are Mexican-style in a fast food atmosphere. The ability to serve foods like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and other traditional foods has made Taco Bell the success that it is today. The very first Taco Bell was started by a former Marine named Glen Bell. When he left the military in 1946 he was determined to be able to serve Mexican food take-out so that people could have the great taste provided by the full-service restaurant. He/She was able to build his very first Taco Bell in 1962 serving the traditional tacos that we all love so dearly. Kermit Bekke, a former Los Angeles police officer bought the first franchise in 1964 and set up shop on Western near Carson Avenue making it the first Taco Bell with an adobe brick facade.
